Job Purpose
THE ROLE
As a Junior / Graduate Process Development Technologist at Long Clawson Dairy you will be working closely with the Process Development Technologist to efficiently progress all new product lines from approval to launch. Day-to-day, you will be liaising with ingredient suppliers, attending, and documenting factory production trials, completing trial reports, fulfilling customer sample requests and organising taste panels.

CLAWSON
A farmer co-operative based in the heart of the vale of Belvoir in Leicestershire, producing a range of products including Blue Stilton, Shropshire Blue, Rutland Red and numerous sweet and savoury flavoured blended cheeses.
TECHNICAL & PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Deputising for the Process Development Technologist as and when required.
• Attending factory trials and completing relevant documents, including trial reports detailing successes and improvement recommendations.
• Liaising with ingredient suppliers to ensure new ingredients are available ahead of trials.
• Assisting the Process Development Technologist in the completion of organoleptic shelf-life trials and ensuring any associated documents are kept up to date.
• Liaising with third party laboratories to ensure nutritional and microbiological information is received ahead of deadlines.
• Organising and participating in taste panels, typically to review recently trialled new cheese products.
• Completing customer sample requests by organising parcels and liaising with couriers.

Qualifications, Background and Experience:
• No prior experience within food manufacturing required but is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook).
• UK driving licence & full right to work in the UK required.
Type of Position – Full-time, Monday-Friday 08.30-17.00. Flexibility required when attending factory trials.
Location – Primary – Long Clawson Site (LE14 4PJ), Secondary – Bottesford Site (NG13 0EL).
