Long Clawson Dairy is thrilled to have scooped yet another award for Smooth Blue at the annual Melton Mowbray Artisan Cheese Fair on May Day weekend.
Over 8,000 visitors from all over attended the fourth fair, making it the most popular event to date. Cheese lovers headed to the cattle market to sample and buy the best of British Cheese, where more than 50 speciality cheesemakers showed off the best of their range. Also on offer were handmade breads, pies, ciders, wines coffee and cakes.
Clawson presented the premium Thomas Hoe Stevenson cheese range, which consists of Aged Blue Stilton, Creamy Smooth Blue, Aged Leicestershire Red and Aged Blue Shropshire.
Smooth Blue was a firm favourite, selling out completely by 1pm on day 1 and, after re-stocking, selling out by 2pm the following day alongside the rest of the range. It won the People’s Choice Award for Best Cheese, voted by attendees at the fair.
